Synopsis
At its meeting on 29 January 2010, the DCUSA Standing Issues Group (SIG) discussed Half Hourly Data Collector (HHDC) access to metering substations.
The ELEXON Supplier Agents Forum (SAF) has noted that Agents are reporting an increase in incidents of being unable to gain access to metering substations to take actual meter reads and provided some analysis of the issue to the SIG for consideration.
The SAF has suggested that the following solutions be considered within the context of the DCUSA:
- Access keys to be provided to HHDCs following full training
- Bookable escort service to be arranged with DNOs
- Allow customer contacts permission and ability to give access to HHDCs.
